
Cynthia Williams is a Family Support Specialist with more than 25 years of lived recovery experience. Having walked her own recovery journey and being part of a family impacted by substance use, she brings deep empathy and understanding to the families she supports. Her professional career began in wraparound services and later expanded into organizational leadership. She worked for three years as a Peer Support Specialist before serving for more than a decade as a Supervisor, focusing on strengthening family engagement and voice. Alongside this work, Cynthia has trained organizations both locally and nationally on the importance of family voice in treatment and has helped them develop their own family support programs. She has also provided training for the County of Los Angeles to build stronger family-focused practices. Drawing on her systems experience, her academic background in psychology with an emphasis on social justice, and her decades of recovery, Cynthia is dedicated to empowering families, promoting healing, and ensuring their voices are central in the recovery process.
